What does ONTAP do with the credential used to modify domain objects

Answer

  • ONTAP will only use the credential provided to create the cifs server account in the specified OU. 
  • Once the cifs server account has been generated, ONTAP will not keep the credential of the admin user. 
  • Once the command completes ONTAP will not be able to re-use the password without re-entering.  
  • After the cifs server account is created, the user account can be disabled / change password with no impact to ONTAP
