Issue

  • ONTAP is intended to get updated using OnCommand SystemManager GUI or via CLI command cluster image get.

  • The initial package upload (GUI) or download/get (CLI):
    • either succeeds but afterwards the repository is empty and continuation from GUI is not possible
    • or fails with error:
      The system could not read the manifest information for image "ONTAPSelect_9171P6_UPGRADE.tgz". For further assistance, contact technical support.


  • The two different behaviors may alternate with subsequent image upload/download attempts after the package repository is found empty after one attempt because when the error is hit, the system auto-cleans up.
