Performance Impact on different datastore during vMotion

Issue

  • During vMotion from volume in Cluster A to local storage, the access to datastore in Cluster B show performance degradation.
  • DB access latency increases despite normal latency metrics (200-300us).
  • vMotion involves storage vMotion, copying only the virtual machine.
  • Shared physical network ports for storage traffic on ESXi hosts.
