Issue

  • Users reported significant performance differences when running data analysis tools on ONTAP versus local disk.
  • The runtime on NetApp NFS mount is nearly two hours, while the same workload on local disk completed in about three minutes.
  • When mounting the same NetApp volume, the issue only occurs on specific clients with the mount options:
x.x.x.x:/homeai/userai on /homeai/userai type nfs (rw,relatime,sync,vers=3,rsize=65536,wsize=65536,namlen=255,hard,proto=tcp,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=sys,mountaddr=x.x.x.x,mountvers=3,mountport=635,mountproto=udp,local_lock=none,addr=x.x.x.x)
