High latency due to a bursty workload

Issue

  • High latency is seen in Data Processing (CPU D-blade) or Disk layer (Disk IO or WAFL Susp CP)
  • Throughput on reads or writes may be low, yet latency is high
  • Concurrency is also high
  • Active IQ Unified Manager may report the following alert:

2 volumes slow due to bursts of write requests causing contention at the data processing component on node CPU_dblade
