Applies to

  • FAS8200
  • ONTAP 9.14

Issue

  • High CPU utilization and increased write latency were observed on the cluster node, impacting CIFS volumes and resulting in increased service times.
  • CPU utilization increased from a baseline of approximately 20% to around 50%, reaching near-maximum levels during efficiency and deduplication operations.
  • Performance archives and logs indicated that operations on Node were taking approximately 3–6 times longer than under normal conditions. However, no unusual I/O activity or significant background workload was observed during the reported impact period.
