  • The article describes WAFL(Write Anywhere File Layout) fragmentation and reallocation process.
  • There are two types of WAFL fragmentation (though they are related in that space fragmentation will likely cause file fragmentation in the long term):
    • File fragmentation
    • Free space fragmentation
