A FlexCache origin volume hangs and stops responding with extremely high latency

Issue

  • A FlexCache origin cluster suddenly has high latency up to 1 or 2 seconds.
  • The cluster also serves read-write cache cluser volumes.
  • The cluster appears to hang and stop responding for several minutes.
  • The issue quickly recovers.
  • The following error is also seen in the event log (EMS):
    • Tue Jul 25 17:49:59 -0400 [node2: CSM BTLS: csm.createSessionFailed:debug]:
      Cluster Session Manager (CSM) failed to create session
      (req=cache-cluster-02:dblade, rsp=node2:dblade, uniquifier=1234567890abcdef) with transport type CT,
      session tag FLEXCACHE_OP_FORWARD, record state ACTIVE, CSM error CSM_CONNABORTED, low-level error UNKNOWN,
      socket error 0, and TLS error 0.
