Answer

  • Maximum LUN per volume is set at 1024 for current ONTAP versions
  • IO sizing, snapshot policy and backup requirements may require LUNs being separated between volumes
  • Please work with your NetApp Account team to assist with your solution requirements as this may differ depending on scale which can reduce how many LUNs per volume you create
