Issue

  • Deleting a large number of files within .trashbin is slow
  • From a client side perspective there should be no impact; from a  storage perspective background deletion job takes longer

cluster1::*> volume file async-delete client enable -vserver vs1 -volume vol1 -trashbin ntaptrash

  • NFS:

[user1@server1 ~]$ mv <srcdirpath> <client trashbin name>

  • CIFS:

:\> rename F:\>dir1\dir2 .ntaptrash
