Unable to access home directory due to node being unresponsive

Issue

  • Trying to mount the home directory of volume "volA" hosted on one node "nodeA" gets hung with nis.server.not.available:error

Fri Nov 15 00:03:55 +0530 [node1: ypbind: nis.server.not.available:error]: None of the NIS servers configured for SVM 'vserver1' can be contacted.

  • Further analysis we could see the clinet communication to be shutting down due to transient error from SPINNP

Fri Nov 15 10:25:31 +0530 [nodeA: kernel: ems.engine.suppressed:debug]: Event 'Nblade.nfsConnResetAndClose' suppressed 1129 times in last 601 seconds.
Fri Nov 15 10:25:31 +0530 [nodeA: kernel: Nblade.nfsConnResetAndClose:error]: Shutting down connection with the client. Vserver ID is 7; network data protocol is NLM v4, Rpc Xid 0x-5071fc1b; client IP address:port is 10.86.xx.xx:813. local IP address is 10.xx.x.67; reason is Failed to Send NLM Response - Transient Error From SPINNP.

  • Migrating the LIF to node "nodeA" restore the access to "volA" , However other volumes hosted on remaining nodes becomes inaccessible
