Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • FabricPool

Issue

  • Space usage of all volumes on an aggregate does not match the used space of the aggregate
  • When adding the used space of individual volumes on the nodes it gives a substantially larger value than summing the used space on the aggregate
  • Example:

The following usage figures are obtained by aggregating the usage data across all volumes from the output of df-m

node1 - 1038520649 MB OR 1.0385 PB
node2 - 661991236 MB OR 661.9 TB
=====================================
Total usage ~ 1.7PB (All volumes from both clusters combined)

Whereas, the combined usage at aggregate level across both clusters is as follows
node1 - 278 TB
node2 - 130 TB
=====================================
Total usage - 408 TB (All aggregates from both clusters combined)
