Solaris 10 update 8 not able to discover more than one LUN

Issue

  • A Linux server running Solaris 10 Update 5 is only able to discover one FCP LUN despite there being many presented by ONTAP 9 cluster.
  • No errors are logged in ONTAP.
  • The FCP zoning configuration is verified.
  • Reboot or HBA rescan on the client does not help.
  • The Linux server can discover LUNs on a different 7MODE storage system normally.
  • Creating new test LUNs results in the same behavior.
  • Troubleshooting on the client, there are no log entries where multiple LUNs are attempted to be discovered.
  • Some Host Bus Adapter (HBA) errors are seen on the Linux server:
