Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • AutoSupport

Description

  • Due to security policies or network design you may need to change the home port of the management lifs.

For example, you need to move AutoSupport traffic from the default e0M management port to another data port (such as e2x).

  • ONTAP sends AutoSupport messages using the management lifs (cluster-mgmt and node-mgmt). These lifs are typically on a node's
e0M port. You may wish to use a different port for AutoSupport traffic.
  • ONTAP requires that the LIF used for AutoSupport must:
  • Reside in the admin vserver
  • Have  the management-autosupport service policy.
