Description

This article describes how to configure ONTAP System Manager to authenticate users using Active Directory (AD) accounts. 
This process involves creating an authentication tunnel (domain tunnel).
 
Note:
  • Prior to ONTAP 9.16.1, must use a domain tunnel to manage cluster administrator accounts with Active Directory.
  • Starting with ONTAP 9.16.1, creating an SVM computer account on the domain without requiring a domain tunnel.
