Applies to

  • NetApp AFF/FAS System
  • ONTAP 9
  • NetApp FabricPool
  • NetApp BlueXP Cloud Tiering
  • AWS S3 (as cloud tier)

Issue

  • Cloud Tier (FabricPool and BlueXP Cloud Tiering) licenses are expired and over capacity.
  • Cluster performs tiering for few days despite expired licenses, but stops after few days of tiering
  • Environment is out of compliance and unsupported for FabricPool/tiering operations.
  • Event logs and aggregate reports show ongoing S3 capacity tier usage and post-expiry data growth
  • License status shows:
::> system license show -package FabricPoolInstalled License: FabricPool
    Capacity: 310TB
    Expiration: 06/09/2025 23:59:59
  • BlueXP Cloud Tiering licenses (150TiB, 60TiB, 60TiB) are also expired and over-consumed
  • Cluster remains at risk for compliance, operational, performance, and cloud cost issues
