Does the AutoSupport SMTP mail delivery require installation of an SSL/TLS certificate for the SMTP mailhost?

Answer

  • Prior to 9.15.1, ONTAP AutoSupport over STARTTLS is not supported. Hence AutoSupport SMTP mail delivery not require for install mailhost SSL/TLS certificate.
  • Beginning with ONTAP 9.15.1, STARTTLS is supported for ONTAP AutoSupport delivery via SMTP, hence SSL/TLS certificate installation is required.
