Applies to

  • ONATP 9
  • FabricPool

Answer

No,  it doesn't. Here is how it works.

  • Adjusting the Volume Tiering Minimum Cooling Days on a given volume doesn't reset any previously accumulated IDR counters on a volume, preserving all current counters.
  • Adjusting the Volume Tiering Minimum Cooling Days to a smaller value,  allow any previously blocks that were marked aged 30 days or more to begin to tier out accordingly.

Additional Information

  • The adjustment of the Volume Tiering Minimum Cooling Days is avaliable starting with ONTAP 9.8.
  • The IDR counters will only be reset by either a volume move operation, or by a node reboot.
