Answer

  • NetApp ONTAP supports SNMP GET (read-only polling) operations through SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3
  • To use SNMP GET for monitoring, ensure that SNMP is enabled and that a valid SNMP community string (for SNMPv1/v2c) or SNMPv3 user is configured
  • No separate or specific configuration is required for SNMP GET in ONTAP
  • Once SNMP is enabled and credentials are set, monitoring tools can perform SNMP polling and collect information from the cluster
