Clone creation during ANDU fails with Not Mounted

Issue

During an ONTAP upgrade, clone creation job receives the below error:
 
Error: Volume created successfully but not mounted. Reason: Failed to create junction record for volume vol1 on Vserver vs1. Reason: Node "node2" on ring "VLDB" is offline. Check the health of the cluster using the "cluster show" command. For further assistance, contact technical support
