Issue

  • When using WebAuthn (FIDO2 / Yubikey) as the multi-factor authentication method for ONTAP System Manager / REST API login, the first 2-3 authentications succeed
  • After that, subsequent login attempts fail with the error in sysmgr.log as:
    WEBAUTHN_CHALLENGE_VERIFY_FAILED 

  • This happens even though the security key returns the correct challenge response. The user is unable to log in until the condition is cleared on the node.
