Issue

  • ONTAP AutoSupports currently tracks when NTPD starts and stops via EMS logging and tracks messages such as spm.ntpd.process.exit, but there doesn't seem to be any mechanism in place that tracks communication degradation from ONTAP to NTP servers.
  • Customers want verbose logging added to EMS to help them find and prevent issues with NTP server connections proactively.
