CONTAP-533180: ktls.cnxnHandshakeLimit: ONTAP reached the maximum limit of <platform-specific-number> concurrent TLS connection handshakes. If this limit is reached, subsequent TLS connections will fail.

Issue

  • Ontap has a limit on the number of KTLs handshakes that can be handled concurrently.
  • This limit is set based on the CPU count of the controller.
  • When one or more applications such as the object store client initiates a burst of connection requests to KTLS, the handshake limit could be reached and an EMS event, ktls.cnxnHandshakeLimit, will be logged.
