CONTAP-52939: Queue overflow and total discards counters increase when port is IFF_UP but link is down; when link is up burst traffic is seen from port

Issue

  • When customer added new ports to the existing ifgrp and upon cabling the new ports, there is a storm of CFM broadcast packets from the newly added ports.
    -This made the switch to bring down ports since storm-control broadcast threshold is enabled in switch.
