CONTAP-679210: Excessive EC Memory Usage During Per-CPU I/O Context Initialization
Issue
ONTAP systems with external cache (EC) enabled may consume excessive memory during per-CPU I/O context initialization. The impact is greater on systems with higher CPU counts and larger NVMe queue depths.
Excessive EC memory consumption can reduce WAFL buffer availability and cause low-memory conditions. These conditions may result in degraded performance, stalled operations, unplanned failover, or a system panic when memory is exhausted.
