XDP SnapMirror updates are not transferring the snapshots when keep count is exceeded

Issue

  • XDP SnapMirror updates are not transferring source Snapshots to destination.
  • Messages similar to these are found in  SnapMirror_Audit.logs

"action=Info 285 <snapshot_name> snapshot(s) on <SVM>:<Volume_name> do not match the rules in Policy <SnapMirror-policy>"

No new Snapshot copies with snapmirror-label(s) [label name] can be transferred to destination volume [volume name] because the keep count has been reached and the preserve value is set to 'true'. "

  • The EMS log contains:

SnapMirror update did not find any new Snapshot copies to transfer from the source volume
