Answer

  • Disk failure during SnapMirror resynchronization does not halt the SnapMirror process.
  • When a disk failure occurs:
    • The affected aggregate initiates a reconstruction process using data from other disks in the RAID group.
    • snapmirror resync continues while the disk reconstruction is in progress.
    • Disk replacement can be performed during snapmirror resync without stopping the process.
  • Performance considerations:
    • Reconstruction overhead may temporarily impact system performance.
    • snapmirror resync speed may be reduced depending on the workload and system configuration.
