WAFL reports Inconsistent user data block for a volume which is part of snapmirror

Applies to

  • ONTAP 9.13 and below
  • Temperature Sensitive Storage Efficiency (TSSE)
  • SnapMirror

Issue

  • Cross version SnapMirror replication from Source ONTAP at 9.14.1 or higher to Destination at 9.13.1 or lower.
  • TSSE should be enabled.
  • The replication from higher version to lower version sends data blocks in compressed format which only 9.14 and above version understands.
  • Due to which the destination marks these blocks are psuedo bad, causing the inconsistencies.
