SnapMirror relationship hanging in 'Aborting' or 'Transfering' state and no progress

Issue

  • SnapMirror relationships are hanging in status transferring without any data progress.
  • SnapMirror hard aborts are staying in the aborting state. 
  • EMS log reports the error event below:

Thu Jun 13 11:05:00 +0900 [node1: sm_logger_main: smc.snapmir.update.fail:error]: Snapmirror update from source volume 'svm1:vol1' to destination volume 'svm2:vol2' failed with error 'Scheduled update was delayed because another SnapMirror operation for the relationship is queued.'. Relationship UUID 'ec52a412-ca91-11eb-afe7-00axxxxxxx'.

  • SnapMirror audit log indicates that previous SnapMirror update never gets completed so that later scheduled updates have to be delayed.
