"SIS.changelog.full" metafile for volume is full for a SnapMirror destination volume

  • SnapMirror SVM (SVM DR)

Issue

  • The following error is reported in the EMS log of the SnapMirror destination cluster:

4/20/2024 15:00:21 CLUSTER1-01 ERROR sis.changelog.full: SIS change logging metafile for volume VOL1@vserver:f1234567-1234-1234-1234-123456789012 is full.

cluster1::> volume efficiency show -vserver SVM1_DR -volume VOL1

  • If the storage efficiency operations are too slow to finish before the next scheduled update then it will run indefinitely and the Status field will continuously show as Active

Vserver Name: SVM1_DR
Volume Name: VOL1
Volume Path: /vol/VOL1
State: Enabled
Status: Active
Progress: Fingerprint is being recovered from volume(0% complete)

  • The Last Operation Error field will report Operation was stopped.

Last Success Operation End: Sun Nov 19 20:20:54 2023
Last Operation Error: Operation was stopped.

  • Lower efficiency will be seen on destination volumes
  • Volume efficiency is not progressing on the destination
