  • SnapMirror active sync (SMas) formerly SnapMirror Business Continuity (SMBC)
  • Symmetric Active/Active mode only

Issue

  • There is potential for cluster node disruption when utilizing SnapMirror active sync (SMas), formerly SnapMirror Business Continuity (SMBC), in Symmetric Active/Active mode
  • This issue occurs only in ONTAP 9.15.1RC1 through 9.15.1P2
  • Symmetric Active/Active is characterized by using a SnapMirror policy of type automated-failover-duplex. Check a SnapMirror relationship's policy type with the command snapmirror show -fields policy-type on the destination
  • This issue does not impact Asymmetric SMas, characterized by SnapMirror policies of type automated-failover
