  • ONTAP 9.x
  • SnapMirror
  • SnapShot

Description

  • A SnapMirror "baseline snapshot" denotes the first snapshot created when a snapmirror relationship is initialized.
  • Two updates subsequent to initialization, the original baseline snapshot rolls off and is replaced by a new snapmirror snapshot.
  • The original baseline snapshot created during initialize does not persist throughout the lifetime of a SnapMirror relationship, replaced by a new SnapMirror snapshot capturing the delta changes since the baseline snapshot.
  • The new snapmirror snapshot is replicated to the destination, and the source snapshot and destination snapshot are known as in-common snapshots.
