Answer

  • The interoperability matrix appearing in Compatible ONTAP versions for SnapMirror relationships contains ONTAP versions that have been qualified and are supported for SnapMirror replication.
  • The interoperability matrix is not a reference for what versions will or will not work, only of what has been qualified and is known to work.
  • Using SnapMirror to replicate data between ONTAP versions outside of those appearing in the interoperability matrix can result in unexpected behavior.
  • Because unexpected behavior can potentially result when SnapMirror is used to replicate data between unqualified ONTAP releases, it is advisable to use qualified ONTAP releases for full support.
