Issue

After upgrading the SnapMirror source cluster to ONTAP 9.16.1P8 and later, SnapMirror updates can fail with the following error: The replication engine encountered an error during decompressing data
This issue has been observed in environments where:

  • The source system is a QAT-enabled platform
  • Destination system is non-QAT
  • Data Compaction disabled on the destination volume.
