Can you recover a SnapLock Compliance aggregate after the cluster has been wiped?
Applies to
- ONTAP 9
- SnapLock Compliance aggregate
Answer
- You can only recover the SnapLock Compliance aggregate if you have backed up the cluster configuration. If a cluster backup is available, please restore the cluster from the backup.
- If you don't have a cluster backup and the cluster has been wiped, the SnapLock Compliance aggregate will remain locked to the disks and remain in an unrecoverable state.
- The only thing which can be recovered is the access to the Data, the SnapLock Compliance lock remains and can not be overwritten.
- NetApp Support can not provide a Procedure to wipe or delete data with Snaplock Compliance Lock.
