Issue

  • Unable to create a second mirror pair in an Asynchronous mirror group due to communicate issue with remote array.
  • SANtrictiy Unified Manager reports:
    • Error: Failed to create mirrored pair because: The operation cannot complete because the storage array cannot communicate with the remote storage array to complete this request. Possible causes include network or connection problems, or no power to the storage array. Check these possible causes then retry the operation. (API 180)

  • From Source array Test Communication > Connectivity returned a single port on Controller A as UNKNOWN

  • In ASUP > trace-buffers record a timeout on single port on Controller A:
    • Controller A:

  • First asynchronous mirror pair creation was successful from Controller B confirmed in Major Event log:
    • B:1/27/26,7:39:18 PM (19:39:18) 4483 7c0c Asynchronous mirror group  has been created - Asynchronous Mirror Group mirror1
