Description

  • This article discusses basic troubleshoot steps for E-Series AutoSupport over SMTP.
  • Differences in AutoSupport configuration between the E2800, E5700, and newer storage arrays and the E2700, E5600, and EF560 storage arrays:
    • The E2800, E5700, and newer storage arrays include embedded ASUP functionality.
    • The E2700, E5600, and EF560 storage arrays rely on an externally installed Event Monitor to configure and monitor AutoSupport. To use
      AutoSupport with these storage arrays, the Event Monitor must be running at all times.
    • For the E2800, E5700, and newer storage array, you can use SANtricity System Manager to configure AutoSupport.
    • For the E2700, E5600, and EF560 storage arrays, you can use SANtricity Storage Manager application to configure AutoSupport.
  • Management software in this article refers to SANtricity System Manager for E2800, E5700, and newer storage arrays, or SANtricity Storage Manager for E2700, E5600, and EF560 storage arrays.
