Upgrade of SC Linux Plug-in on SLES 11 SP3 or SP4 fails with Installer 4.8

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise System (SLES) version 11, Service Pack 3 or 4

Issue

When attempting to run the installer on SLES 11 with either service pack 3 or 4, the Installer fails with the following error:
Installation of the package "snapcenter_linux_host_plugin.bin" failed on the host "joda.sip.local" with ErrorCode:1, error:
[root][Fri Feb 17 15:01:55 CET 2023] - readlink is available. Using default readlink implementation.
. Installation logs have been placed under the directory "/var/opt/snapcenter/logs/" on the host.
 
The installation log itself, retrieved from the Linux host shows:
installRpm: Executable Command: rpm -Uvh
--nodeps --relocate /opt=/opt  netapp-snapcenter-plugin-loader-4.8.x86_64.rpm netapp-snapcenter-plugin-unix-4.8.x86_64.rpm
netapp-snapcenter-plugin-oracle-4.8.x86_64.rpm  --ignoreos --nodigest --nofiledigest
--nofiledigest: unknown option
