Issue

  • When performing a SnapCenter Plug-In for Oracle clone operation it fails with the error:

Unable to discover the device for LUN '<SVM>:/vol/<VOL_NAME>_<MMddYYhhmmssNNNNN>/<LUN_NAME>'
 
Where  <VOL_NAME>_<MMddYYhhmmssNNNNN>  is the flexclone volume.
  • You may also see pvdisplay warnings about some devices not being used for an LVM in favor of others, and perhaps, like in this case, one swapped:

WARNING: Not using device /dev/mapper/3600a0980383038616e3f4a53716b3467 for PV <ALPHA-NUMERIC-UUID-A>.
WARNING: Not using device /dev/mapper/3600a0980383038616e3f4a53716b3468 for PV <ALPHA-NUMERIC-UUID-B>.

WARNING: PV <ALPHA-NUMERIC-UUID-C> prefers device /dev/mapper/3600a0980383038616e3f4a53716b346a because device is used by LV.
