Resource discovery for SQL resources takes too long in SC SQL

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server (SCSQL)
  • SnapCenter Server
  • Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL)
  • Third party applications relying on SCSQL backups

Issue

  • Powershell command Get-SmResources -PluginType 'SCSQL' -HostName <hostname>   times out after 10 minutes
  • The associated discovery job in the SnapCenter server UI under the Monitor section shows the operation is successful lasting over 10 minutes
  • Manual refresh of the SQL resources from the user interface also takes unreasonable amount of time
