SnapCenter communication with storage controller fails with error - Unable to read data from the transport connection

Issue

  • Adding a storage controller in SnapCenter and/or running a backup in SnapCenter returns the following error in the Web Application:
 
unable to read data from transport connection.png
 
The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send. Unable to read data from the transport connection
 
  • From a closer reading of the SnapManagerWeb_<job>.log, it appears that these connections go to port 8145 of the SnapCenter Server, such as:
RemoteUrl: https://localhost:8145/SMProtectionGroupService/SchedulerTaskAction
RemoteUrl: https://<SNAPCENTER_SERVER_FQDN>:8145/SnapshotManagementService/GetSnapshot
 
  • The Windows System Event Log at the same time, shows Microsoft-Windows-HttpEvent, Event-ID: 15021 with the message:
An error occurred while using SSL configuration for endpoint 0.0.0.0:8145.
The error status code is contained within the returned data.
