SnapCenter is showing certificate alerts repeatedly

Issue

Every 5 seconds, SnapCenter shows the following alert in its interface:

Alert: Audit logging failed
Severity: Critical
Entity Type: SnapCenter Server
Entity Name: <SNAPCENTER_HOSTNAME_FQDN>
Status: New
Time: <DATE_TIME>
Job Id: Not applicable
Description: Certificate not found for Friendly name: SnapCenter_SignCert

Noting that audit logging has not been enabled, and this can happen on a new installation.
