SnapCenter failing to remove snapshots from the HLD volume

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Server (SC)
  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server (SCSQL)
  • Snapshots in Host Log Directory (HLD) volume.

Issue

  • SC failing to remove snapshots from the HLD volume.
  • Affecting only one resource group and policy.
  • Error message seen in the backup job logs:

SMCore PID=[4796] TID=[18] Command starts: Remove-NcSnapshot -Volume <volume_name> -Snapshot <snapshot_name>
SMCore PID=[4796] TID=[18] Remove Snapshot <snapshot_name> on <volume_name> is failed. Error: 102

  • ASUP from the destination storage shows the following error at the same time:
