SnapCenter Oracle / HANA plug-ins fail to install with "validateJarSignature" error

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server (RHEL)

Issue

Installation or upgrade of the SCO, SCU or SCHANA on Red Hat Linux fails with the following errors seen:
 
  • SnapManagerWeb_<JobID>.log
ERROR SnapManagerWeb_<JobID> PID=[xxxx] TID=[xxxx] Installation of the package "snapcenter_linux_host_plugin.bin" failed on the host "<Hostname>" with ErrorCode:1, error: [root][Thu Jun 19 03:37:34 PM CEST 2025] - readlink is available. Using default readlink implementation.
. Installation logs have been placed under the directory "/var/opt/snapcenter/logs/" on the host.
 
ERROR SnapManagerWeb_<JobID> PID=[xxxx] TID=[xxxx] ErrorCode (-1), ErrorMessage (GetConfigSettings : Key UNIX_PACKAGE_DEPLOYMENT_DIRECTORY not found)
 
  • SnapCenter_Linux_Host_Plug-in_Install_<JobID_Date_Time>.log
- installOrUpgradeRpm:[Install]: Verifying signature of NetApp inhouse jars.
/usr/lib/jvm/<Java_Version>/bin/jarsigner
- validateJarSignature: jarsigner is available.
- validateJarSignature: jar signature verified ok on spl/lib/spl-main*.
- [ERROR] validateJarSignature: jar signature not found to be timestamped by Entrust Timestamp Authority on spl/lib/spl-main*.
