SnapCenter Clone fails with Failed to set the LUN signature

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Server version 4.9 and lower.
  • SnapCenter Plug in for Windows
  • SnapCenter Plug-in for SQL
  • SnapLock Volumes
  • ONTAP 9.12 or lower versions.

Issue

When attempting to clone from a Snapshot that resides in a volume with SnapLock enabled, the following error message is shown in the SMCore and/or SAL logs:
 
"Failed to clone resources, error isMount operation failed with error Failed to mount storage resource, error is Failed to set the LUN signature. entry doesn't exist , Failed to set the LUN signature. entry doesn't exist"
