SnapCenter 6.2.2 plug-ins unstable on Windows Server 2022 SQL
Applies to
- NetApp SnapCenter Server 6.2.2
- NetApp SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft Windows 6.2.2
- NetApp SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server 6.2.2
- Microsoft Windows Server 2022
- Microsoft SQL Server Failover Cluster Instance (FCI)
- NetApp Data ONTAP 9.X
Issue
- After upgrading SnapCenter Server and Windows/SQL plug-ins to version 6.2.2, backups for a SQL Failover Cluster Instance (FCI) running on Windows Server 2022 become unreliable
- The SnapDrive service on the node holding the cluster role becomes unstable and stops, causing backups (full and transaction log) to fail after some time
- Backups run successfully for a period after restarting the SnapCenter services, but eventually stop working
- Event logs show .Net Runtime errors and SnapDrive service crashes
- Attempts to reinstall plug-ins or use different .NET versions (e.g., 10.0.9, 10.0.7) do not resolve the issue
- This issue is only observed on Windows Server 2022 SQL FCI clusters; Windows Server 2019 clusters are unaffected
