SCW upgrade failure with .NET error

Issue

  • .NET error during SCW upgrade, seen in the plug-in upgrade log:
    (CLR Action): SWInstallerHelper: IsHostPartOfCluster: ERROR: Exception: System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException: Configuration system failed to initialize ---> System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException: Unrecognized element. (C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Config\machine.config line 14)
  • .NET and Powershell versions are correct and pass the pre-requisite checks.
