SCV backup operation fails as snapshot deletion fails

Issue

  • Snapshots are left behind on the storage system but not listed in SnapCenter
  • The SnapDriveSALDebug log reports the below error
 
Error: Activity 'Registering Backup and Applying Retention' failed with error: Retention : Error: Remove Snapshot 'snapshot_name' failed on volume 'volume_name'. Snapshot copy "snapshot_name" of volume "SAS_vol1_DATA" on Vserver "svm_name" has not expired or is locked. Use the "snapshot show -fields owners, expiry-time" command to view the expiry and lock status of the Snapshot copy.
