SCV Does Not Clean Up VMware Snapshots After Backup

SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere (SCV)

Issue

  • VMware snapshots created by SCV during backup operations are not being deleted as expected after backup completion. 
  • A VMware snapshot (named SCV__XXXX) remains on the VM with a timestamp matching when the last SCV backup ran.
  • The SCV job details reports that retention ran successfully and the vmcontrol.log shows successful snapshot deletion.
