Applies to

SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere (SCV) 6.0 or 6.0P1

Issue

  • Though changing NTP server configuration via maintenance console or SCV GUI (https://SCV-IP:8080),  ntpq -p does not show the new NTP server
  • Even though NTP server configuration at the time of deployment of SCV 6.0 is specified, ntpq -p shows other NTP servers
diag@scvhost:~$ ntpq -p
     remote           refid      st t when poll reach   delay   offset   jitter
===============================================================================
 0.debian.pool.n .POOL.          16 p    -  256    0   0.0000   0.0000   0.0076
 1.debian.pool.n .POOL.          16 p    -  256    0   0.0000   0.0000   0.0076
 2.debian.pool.n .POOL.          16 p    -  256    0   0.0000   0.0000   0.0076
 3.debian.pool.n .POOL.          16 p    -  256    0   0.0000   0.0000   0.0076
  • If NTP server is specified before upgrading from SCV 5.0 or earlier,  ntpq -p shows it and changes in SCV 6.0 are not reflected
